BLAST has announced its entry into Dota 2 with a new event, Bounty Hunt. Bounty Hunt will be an online event with a $145,000 prize pool and $5,000 in cash prizes for the audience.
Nicolas Estrup, BLAST Director of Product and Experience, released a comment about the venture into Dota 2, and why they decided to enter the scene:

Dota has so much potential in terms of how you broadcast it and how you make entertaining arena events at some point in the future. There's just a ton of opportunities to come in and put our mark on how we think Dota could and/or should be broadcast and enjoyed.
The $145,000 prize pool isn't static, however, and will offer a new approach for teams. Each team begins at $15,000. Forty percent of their bounty will increase after every series. $45,000 will be up for grabs by completing various challenges throughout the event that fans will vote on via the BLAST social media channels, and one lucky fan's nickname will be the name of the bounty.
The $5,000 for fans can be earned through the Fan Prediction Game, where viewers will predict match outcomes, the number of completed bounties by teams, and more to come.
Here are the current teams set to compete in BLAST Bounty Hunt:
- OG Esports
- Team Secret
- Nigma
- Ninjas in Pyjamas
- Alliance
- Team Liquid
BLAST Bounty Hunt will be held on June 9 - 13, 2020, and will be live-streamed via a new official BLAST Twitch channel.
