I think in a real firefight I'd probably want something a little more practical, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the new nailgun 'battle pickup' weapon that will make its debut in Battlefield: Hardline's first expansion pack.

Due out this June for Battlefield Premium owners, Criminal Activity will also include four new maps - Backwoods, Code Blue, The Beat and Black Friday - as well as new weapons, vehicles and a brand new game mode.

Pickups are slightly different from the new weapons of course, in that they're scattered across the map in crates at the start of the game. If you can't be bothered tracking them down, there's three regular guns you can plump for instead. The new game mode is called Bounty Hunter, though there's no information on exactly what it's all about just yet.

Non-Premium members will presumably get their hands on Criminal Activity a few weeks after it first drops, if previous Battlefield release schedules are anything to go by. Here's the full list of new features:

- Four fast-paced new maps – Backwoods, Code Blue, The Beat and Black Friday

- Two new rides

- Two new ammunition types for specific weapons

- A new gadget

- Three new weapons

- A nailgun battlepickup

- New Bounty Hunter game mode

- Six new masks: two animal masks, and four new police headgear options
