Battle Royale is the hottest mode of FPS games right now and it’s becoming a default for every major title. EA has announced that Battlefield 5 is getting its own BR in spring of 2019, about four months after the game release.
Game publisher laid down the roadmap of content updates divided into chapters that will be going into Battlefield 5 starting two weeks after the release. The third chapter, called “Trial by fire”, includes a battlefield called Firestorm. Here is how it’s described by EA:
Firestorm: During spring, DICE and Criterion start the fire with Battlefield V’s battle royale experience. Firestorm elevates the mode by bringing in the best of what Battlefield is known for. Mix a shrinking playing field with trademark Battlefield elements such as team play, powerful vehicles, and destruction, and you get many unique Battlefield moments coming your way.
Developers are going to modify battlefields overtime, meaning that Firestorm could get a taste of mysterious cube madness, if DICE decides to go along this path.
Battlefield 5 will be officially released on November 20; the game went through a brief beta in September.
