DICE recently announced that they’ve gone to work on the upcoming Battlefield 4 Spring patch, and sadly, the patch won’t have the night maps that so many BF4 players have eagerly been waiting for.

According to DICE’s David Sirland, night maps won’t be in the Spring patch because “we needed more time” to work on them. Speaking to CTE members, Sirland added that they wanted to “make sure some of the crashes we see are indeed content and night map related”.

Instead, the Spring patch will include the recently announced Gun Master mode and the 5 new weapons. The patch will also include a new weapons balance update.

DICE will also focus on fixing the hit registration problem, which is affecting a lot of players right now. Other additions to the Spring patch might be the new 60 Hz BF4 server refresh rate, which has shown great promise.

Sirland said that they will soon release a CTE (Community Test Environment) update which will include all the changes meant for the retail patch. He didn’t give a time frame, but said that the patch will be tested in CTE for “the coming weeks”.

All this means that night maps won’t be added until this Summer at the earliest.
