A post on the official Overwatch blog today announced that Battle.Net is working on a new voicechat client which will be included in the upcoming Overwatch beta. According to the blog post, the voicechat sytem is "still in its early development and testing stages," but the possibility of it being included in other games down the road has been left open.

Most interesting is that it's not a system for the Overwatch game itself, but an update to the Battle.net client. While the post makes mention there are no promises yet as to if other games will be supported, it doesn't rule out support once test results and feedback have been gathered. Being able to talk to your mates in Diablo III might be handy, though catching an unhealthy dose of rage from a losing Heroes of the Storm team sounds a little less fun.
