B Site League will fine teams up to $100k if they fall out of top 20 worldwide rankings according to Cloud9 President Dan Fiden. This information was revealed on the RichardLewisReports Twitch channel where Richard had Dan Fiden and Duncan "Thorin" Shields on the return of the By The Numbers podcast. This ranking will be one set by the B Site League, but Dan promised that its formula on determining team ranks would be public knowledge.

This is a new take on ensuring teams in the league will provide quality rosters and talent. In the chat with Dan Fiden and Thorin, the Shanghai Dragons of the Overwatch League are referenced as an example of a failed league structure since they went 0-40 during the first season of OWL and received no penalty for doing so.
