Two days ago, it was first mentioned that League of Legends champions Azir and Corki could see nerfs in the future. Mark Yetter has now confirmed these changes and more in a recent tweet.
Their nerfs are meant to help reduce the dominance of Azir and Corki mid lane meta in League of Legends, and comes as good news to some. Other champions receiving nerfs include Ezreal, Riven, Yuumi, Sejuani, Sivir, Sylas and Tahm Kench. 12 others will also receive buffs in the patch.
Thanks to many professional teams using the duo, some spectators have found the early game in matches to be stale. The nerfs introduced in patch 9.16 should help mix things up, whether teams choose to still use the duo or make other picks. We could see teams choosing a wide variety of champions after the patch, which should keep things fresh and exciting.
