In the Epic Games Store, the next free game Axiom Verge is in full swing - a game whose gameplay resembles Metroid and Castlevania. You can add the game to your Epic library until February 21. Free distribution of games will take place at Epic Games Store every two weeks throughout 2019. Earlier Subnautica and Super Meat Boy were free for all Epic Store users. Next in line will be the retro-quest Thimbleweed Park.
However, the giving out began with a curious case: many players had an error with the missing sound effect file named “Steam.xnb” when loading the game.
And since the Epic Store doesn’t have the ability to support users by discussing problems on the forum yet - players ran to write about their issues back to the Steam forums.
The game developer commented on the problem and admitted his mistake. In fact, there was a funny situation (with whom it doesn’t happen, right?):
Axiom Verge tells the story of a scientist falling on another planet. Mermaids (also thought supercomputers) contact him and ask to save the world. Actually, this is what players will have to do: explore the surroundings, fight monsters and use a particular gun to cause game bugs and use them to their advantage, reprogramming monsters.
Axiom Verge was released in 2015, and the game is available on PS4, Xbox One, PS Vita, Wii U, Nintendo Switch and PC. Over the entire existence of Axiom Verge received a massive amount of feedback on Steam, 94% of which are positive.
