CIS organisation, AVANGAR have announced that they will not be attending the Games Clash Masters event this weekend.
This is as a result of all the physical and mental stress its players have endured in the last couple of weeks. Last weekend they won BLAST Pro Series Moscow after a poor start and the week before they took second place at StarLadder Berlin Major.
As a result of all the accumulated stress, AVANGAR has decided to take a short break from competitive matches to rest and recuperate.
"The team needs a little rest from LAN tournaments to restore strength because, for us, their health is our top priority. We sincerely apologise to the fans, participating teams and the organiser for not being able to take part in the tournament and hope for your understanding," said AVANGAR in a statement.
Their withdrawal leaves one vacant spot in Group A. Other teams assigned to the group are Aristocracy, DreamEaters and Sprout. According to a HLTV report, Murator Expo plans to announce a replacement by Monday. Group B consists of AGO, BIG, FURIA and Illuminar.
Games Clash Masters will take place from September 20-22, featuring a $100,000 prize pool.
