During a fan meetup in Tokyo, Auto Chess developer Dragonest announced that the immensely popular game will be coming to Sony PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch in 2020.
The report comes from a Japanese news site, PC Watch, with the announcement made by Dragonest CEO Loring Lee. The company hopes that the game's entry into the console market will help attract even more players. No mention was made of a global release, but considering both its mobile and upcoming PC versions are, it should be the same for the console as well.
Auto Chess is a game based on a Dota 2 mod which single-handedly created the autobattler genre. Since the game became stand-alone, Valve has released Dota Underlords, Riot Games has Teamfight Tactics and Tencent, Chess Rush. They all emerged in varying levels of development at around the same time to compete against Auto Chess.
There is currently a PC beta test for Auto Chess going on, with the finished game launching on Epic Game Store later in the year.
