North American esports organization Cloud9 is the first team sponsored by AT&T telecommunications company. The owners of the largest holding company in their field say that 'it will help AT&T grow its relationships with new and existing customers' by increasing the presence in esports with this agreement.

Cloud9 will begin to release the weekly TV-series called 'The Nines' — about the players' life, the tournaments and other details of the everyday life of the team. Jack Etienne, CEO and owner of Cloud9, commented on this situation as follows:

Teaming up with a company like AT&T, who has always prided itself on being ahead of the curve, is a tremendous moment for the whole C9 organization," said Jack Etienne, Cloud9 CEO & Owner. "With what AT&T is bringing us, we're going to be able to bring the fans so much more – more content, more access, more memes, and more championships. I can't wait to see the incredible things we’ll do together.

AT&T also has contracts with the NBA 2K League and ESL. Cloud9 partners with Red Bull, OMEN from HP, HyperX, USAF, Secretlab and Twitch.
