The Atlas game is a network pirate adventure from the ARK: Survival Evolved developers. The attacker, who gained access to the administrator account, brightened the weekdays of game’s inhabitants.
A user logged into the Atlas' North American PvP server and frolicked from the heart. As the Rock Paper Shotgun reports, the “hacker” cut through the world on a tank, and also caused rain from planes and an invasion of whales. Both ordinary players and streamers witnessed the chaos.
Developers from Grapeshot have already responded to the incident. The company posted a statement on the game’s forum, stating that the cause of the damage was not third-party software or “exploits”, but a hacked Steam account. The authors had to roll back the progress of users by about five and a half hours to erase the consequences of recent events.
Recall that Atlas is still in the early access. It seems that the game does not cause player’s enthusiasm - it was awarded "mostly negative" reviews on Steam. People complain about a lot of problems, including technical problems: not everything is smooth with performance, server stability, and so on. In addition, some buyers accuse Grapeshot of self-copying: Atlas allegedly borrows many mechanics from ARK.
