Assassin's Creed, the movie, starring the talented Michael Fassbender will debut on the silver screen on Dec. 21, 2016. Fassbender is known for his roles in the X-Men series, the humanoid in Prometheus and the sex addict in Shame. He is an incredibly versatile actor, and I think Assassin's Creed might just be safe in his capable hands. Video game adaptations are notoriously bad, but Ubisoft is pulling out all the stops to make sure the Assassin's Creed movie is the exception to the rule.

"We have the pleasure to announce today that the green light has been given by New Regency, and the production has already started," said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot during company earnings call. "This is a very important milestone for the project and for our team on Assassin’s Creed."

The multi-talented Justin Kurzel will direct Assassin's Creed. He is know for his work as director, writer and editor and has won multiple awards, including Best Direction in a Feature Film for Snowtown. Ubisoft Motion Pictures, New Regency, and 20th Century Fox are working together on the movie. All we know so far about the plot is: "A convicted felon is recruited by a company called "Abstergo" to explore the mind of his ancestor in order to recover a sacred artifact."
