Artifact is suddenly popular again ⚡⚡⚡ Esports and gaming news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!
The recent update breathed new life into Artifact as the players are enjoying the recently introduced changes. After the dip to almost below 3k active users, the game is back to 10k.
The piece of the puzzle that literally saved the game
With the new progression system and the access to free content, Artifact became much more attractive to the casual audience. The changes are mostly superficial as even the grinding can bring so many card packs and event tickets, but it’s enough to keep tons of players happy.
The simplistic rank system doesn’t punish experimentation and lifts most of the “ladder anxiety”, letting players to just enjoy the game.
Game diversity is the icing on the cake
Too early to judge how the balance changes will impact the competitive meta but it’s safe to say that the game will become more diverse.
Even now by queuing in competitive Constructed gauntlet you can stumble upon very different decks that include heroes like Storm Spirit, Venomancer, and Chen. The recently nerfed heroes like Axe and Drow Ranger are still very popular and might belong to the first tier, but players need to work hard to keep the previous win rates.
And the Imps now have hats!
While Dota 2 players can’t stand Roshan without the hat, Artifact players need something for their imps. Thanks, Valve!
