Tekken and King of Fighters pro, Arslan "Arslan Ash" Siddique has won three accolades in the 2019 ESPN Esports Awards.
The Pakistani player put his country on the esports map following his first-place victory in Tekken 7 at EVO Japan 2019 and EVO 2019. It came as a bit of a surprise when he failed to make it out of the Tekken World Tour Group Stage earlier this month.
During Friday's awards, Aslan Ash won the Best Esports Player award under both the fan and ESPN choice categories. He was also the first-runner for Best Moment of the Year award in the fan poll. The nomination was based on his EVO wins.
Arslan Ash began competing in the international esports scene in 2018. He gained recognition after defeating legendary Tekken pro, Bae “Knee” Jae-Min at OUG Tournament 2018 in Dubai, UAE. Arslan Ash is also an accomplished King of Fighters player, winning tournaments in KOF XIII and KOF XIV in the past.
Arslan Ash is the first player to win both EVO and EVO Japan in the same year. All the odds that were against him only added to the worth of his achievements, making him an inspiration to gamers in countries with little to no representation on the international scene.
