Riot Games have added quite a lot to Teamfight Tactics patch 9.14, from a new character and ranked mode to a reworked item system and lots of balance changes. TFT patches will now be a weekly affair, with each patch either focusing on new content and features or balance changes and bugfixes. 

Realising tier 3 champions were a bit underpowered and not worth picking, 

Riot decided to buff a couple of them. The opposite is the case for many tier 4 champions that are now being nerfed. Here are the TFT 9.14 patch notes. 

New additions

  • Twisted Fate is a 2 gold Pirate/Sorcerer with the ability "Pick a Card," which either stuns, deals damage around its target or restores mana to Twisted Fate and nearby allies. 

  • TFT ranked beta season begins. 

Game systems

  • Champions with lower base attack speeds will receive smaller benefits from attack speed items. 

  • Players that don't receive an item from a PvE round will instead receive gold from on of the opponents. 

  • Dragon Trait bonuses have been stripped from Dragon and Elder Dragon

  • Ranked premade party size has reduced from five to three players at all ranks.

  • XP needed for level 9 has reduced  from 70 to 64.

  • HP percentage is now used to determine “lowest health” for abilities that target low health champions.

  • The shop is rerolled at your new level if initiated after leveling up from round XP. 

  • A streak indicator is displayed next to gold total which shows your current streak and rewards gained from different streaks. 

  • A combat recap will now display much damage each champion dealt. 

  • The champion pop up inspect panel now includes their stats. 

Traits

Demon

  • Mana burn chance is now 25/50/85% down from 40/60/80%

Elementalist

  • Golem health drops from 3,000 to 2,500.

  • Golem attack drops from 200 to 100.

Guardian

  • Armour buff now stacks infinitely, up from two. 

Gunslinger

  • Gunslinger’s AoE trait is visually clearer. 

  • Fixed bug that occasionally causes to not work. 

  • At four Gunslingers, extra attacks hit two targets instead of all in range. 

Pirate

  • Average gold per chest drops from 2 to 1.6. 

Shapeshifter

  • Fixed bug that causes Shapeshifter to gain less health than intended. 

  • Transform bonus health drops from 100% to 60% 

Wild

  • Bonus attacks speed raised from 7% to 8%

Tier 1 Champions

Darius

  • No longer casts his ability when no enemies are in range at start of cast. 

Elise

  • Now a Tier 1 Champion. 

  • Mana cost raised from 70 to 100. 

  • Spiderlings can proc Demon Origin. 

  • Spiderlings summoned nerfed from 2/3/4 to 1/2/4. 

  • Health dropped from 500 to 450. 

  • Armour drops from 25 to 20. 

Fiora

  • Attack speed raised from 0.7 to 1. 

  • Damage raised from 100-250 to 100-400. 

Graves

  • Health drops from 500 to 450. 

Vayne

  • Attack speed raised from 0.6 to 0.65. 

Warwick

  • Abilities will now apply on-hit effects

Tier 2 Champions

Ahri

  • Fixed a bug where Ahri’s ability wouldn’t deal damage after death. 

  • Now retargets her ability if the target dies during the cast time. 

  • Ahri now casts her ability at attack target and not a random unit. 

Blitzcrank

  • Fixed a bug where Blitzcrank could hook a unit off the board if he died during cast. 

  • Nearby allies now more likely to target the unit Blitzcrank pulls. 

Braum

  • Fixed Braum’s shield tooltip.

  • Damage reduction raised from 60-90% to 70-90%

  • Mana cost dropped from 75 to 50. 

  • Braum now casts his wall towards the furthest enemy and not current target. 

Lucian

  • Ability’s second shot now deals 150/250/350, up from 65/150/235. 

Pyke

  • Mana cost raised from 100 to 125. 

  • Starting mana is raised from 50 to 75

Rek’Sai

  • Burrow duration dropped from 1.5 to 1. 

  • Knockup duration raised from 1.25 to 1.75. 

  • Damage raised from 150-250 to 150-350. 

Shen

  • Starting mana raised from 50 to 100. 

Tier 3 Champions

Aatrox

  • Mana cost dropped from 100 to 75. 

  • Damage raised from 350-850 to 400-1000. 

Evelynn

  • Health raised from 500 to 600.

  • Execute threshold raised from 50% to 65% health. 

  • Execute multiplier raised from 300/400/500% to 300/500/700%

  • Evelynn’s ability now roots targets during the cast time (0.35s) to prevent them from escaping the area of effect. 

Gangplank

  • Abilities now apply on-hit effects. 

  • Barrel animation bugs fixed. 

  • Attack speed raised from 0.6 to 0.65. 

  • Health raised from 650 to 700. 

Katarina

  • Fixed a bug where her ability wasn’t preventing enemy healing. 

Kennen

  • Damage raised from 300-660 to 400-900. 

  • Attack damage raised from 60 to 70. 

Morgana

  • No longer casts her ability when enemies are out of range at start of cast. 

  • Damage raised from 250-450 to 300-450. 

Poppy

  • Armour raised from 30 to 40. 

  • Stun duration raised from 1.5/2.5/3.5 to 2/34. 

  • Number of targets hit increased from 1 to 1/2/3. 

Rengar

  • Savagery’s attack speed buff increases Rengar’s attack speed ratio. 

Shyvana

  • Attack speed raised from 0.65 to 0.7. 

  • Health raised from 550 to 650. 

  • Bonus attack damage while in dragon form raised from 60-160 to 100-200. 

Veigar

  • Damage to lower star champions raised from 9999 to 19,999. 

  • Mana cost dropped from 85 to 75. 

Volibear

  • Health raised from 650 to 700. 

  • Attack speed raised from 0.65. 

  • Mana cost dropped from 100 to 75. 

  • Lightning attack damage ration now raised from 60-100% to 80-100% 

Tier 4 Champions

Akali

  • Fixed a couple of bugs that would sometimes prevent her ability from dealing damage. 

  • No longer casts her ability when enemies are out of range at start of cast. 

Brand

  • Mana cost raised from 100 to 125. 

Cho’Gath

  • Health dropped from 1,100 to 1,000. 

  • Knockup duration drops from 2/2.25/2 to 51.5/2/2.5. 

Draven

  • Attack speed dropped from 0.85 to 0.75. 

Gnar

  • Health dropped from 850 to 750. 

  • Armour dropped from 35 to 30. 

Leona

  • Mana cost dropped from 150 to 100. 

Sejuani

  • Stun duration dropped from 3/4/5 to 2/3.5/5. 

Tier 5 Champions

Anivia

  • Upon Anivia's death, ability no longer cancels. 

Miss Fortune

  • Now casts her ability at her current attack target instead of a random enemy. 

  • Now retargets her ability if the target dies during the windup

  • Fixed a bug where Miss Fortune would sometimes move and change her ultimate’s trajectory while channeling. 

  • Mana cost raised from 75 to 100. 

Yasuo

  • Ability now applies on-hit effects. 

  • Knockup duration raised from 1.25 to 1.5. 

  • Damage raised from 150/250/350 150/350/550. 

Items

General

  • Ability power no longer benefit items.  

  • Spatula now doubles the stat power of its sister component. 

  • Every PvE round now drops an item component or gold. 

Cursed Blade

  • Can now drop targets to 0 stars. 

  • Fixed a bug where Cursed Blade would reset an enemy champion’s level if triggered a second time. 

Frozen Heart

  • Effect now applies more consistently to units near the wearer. 

Guardian Angel

  • Revive delay drops from 4 seconds to 2 seconds. 

  • Health restored raised from 500 to 1,000. 

  • Guardian Angel now properly clears Grievous Wounds

Guinsoo’s Rageblade

  • Attack speed per stack raised from 3% to 4% 

Hextech Gunblade

  • Fixed a bug in which spell vamp sometimes wasn't properly granted. 

  • No longer benefits from item effects. 

Ionic Spark

  • Instead of magic damage, now deals true damage. 

  • Fixed a bug where Ionic Spark was dealing 75 damage instead of 200

Locket of the Iron Solari

  • Now shields the wearer and the champions two spaces to the right and left of the wearer at the start of the round. 

  • Shield value raised from 200 to 300. 

Luden’s Echo

  • Fixed a bug where targets weren’t taking the correct amount of damage. 

  • Fixed a bug where it would proc on basic attack hits but not on ability hits. 

  • Primary target damage raised from 100 to 200. 

  • AoE damage raised from 0 + 1.0 AP to 200. 

Morellonomicon

  • Max HP damage per second raised from 2.5% to 3%

Rapidfire Cannon

  • Updates when the champion's range changes. 

Recurve bow

  • Attack speed raised from 15% to 20%

Redemption

  • Now activates at 25% health. 

  • No longer damages enemies. 

Runaan’s Hurricane

  • Now fires 1 bolt instead of 2. 

  • Bolt damage now deals 25% damage instead of 50%

  • Now applies on-hit effects. 

Seraph’s Embrace

  • Fixed a bug where its effect wouldn’t stack. 

Statikk Shiv

  • Now always hits 3 additional targets instead of all champions in a frontal cone. 

  • Now only activates once per launch attack. 

Thornmail

  • Reflects 100% physical damage mitigated, raised from 35% damage taken. 

  • Now inflicts true damage, not magic damage. 

Warmog’s

  • Now regenerates 6% missing health, raised from 3% max health. 

Zeke’s Herald

  • Now only grants attack speed to champions two spaces to the right and left of the wearer. 

  • Attack speed aura raised from 10% to 15%. 

Bug fixes

  • Enchanted Crystal Arrow missile VFX updated. 

  • Enchanted Crystal Arrow now plays sounds. 

  • Fixed a bug where champions leveling upon combining from a shared draft selection sometimes duplicated the champion. 

  • Reconnecting to a TFT game will no longer prevent the display of end of game stats. 

  • Fixed a couple of bugs that would cause melee champions to AFK and stop moving.
