Cheddar magazine released a detailed report on Apple's game development plans. It has information, 5 different sources confirming, that since the end of 2018, the company has been working on creating its own games subscription service and is already actively negotiating with developers about including their products in the future library.
Also, there were talks with several developers about the potential of becoming a publisher. It means that Apple plans to create projects using their own resources, which generally corresponds to the current vector of Apple development — earlier they spoke about unique video content (films, TV series) in making.
There are no reports on the cost and capabilities of the service. All we know is that this idea is only at a very early stage of development and can be cancelled at any time if something goes wrong. Well, an extremely interesting thing to look at — how the iOS service will compete with Game Pass, PlayStation Now and EA Access. But clearly — it's not going to happen in the upcoming months.
