Apex Legends has stormed the gaming community while being a perfectly executed Battle Royale game with various clever new features for the genre. However, the game won’t stick to Battle Royale only, and the developers from Respawn have recently confirmed that new game modes are on their way.
A few days ago, Respawn shared an update regarding the state of the game and its future. It was posted on both the game’s official website and Reddit, where one of the users asked a few questions and made suggestions. Luckily, the devs were open for the dialogue, and community manager Jay “Jayfresh” Frechette gave a response. In terms of adding new game modes and new ways to play, Frechette has briefly confirmed that these indeed are coming. He couldn’t share anything else concerning this particular topic and didn’t elaborate further, but at least we know that the Battle Royale mode won’t be the only one in the game. Perhaps, there’s space for a proper hero-based team deathmatch (something like Overwatch.) It was by far the most informative answer since Jayfresh didn’t comment anything else in details.
So, there you go – Apex Legends is definitely going to expand in terms of the provided gameplay experience. There’re many concepts that might work within the game’s core formula of having different characters with special abilities, and it’s great that Respawn doesn’t stick solely to BR.
