The Apex Legends landing page in Origin has been updated today with the picture of the recently leaked character – Octane – and a message containing a helluva lot of grammar mistakes. It has been taken down since and replaced with a message dedicated to the Battle Pass, although it doesn’t say anything specific.
The leaked promotional image was spotted by many Origin users and saved for the sake of history on Reddit. Is has been definitely posted on the game’s page in Origin too soon because the rushed announcement literally invited to survive “the the arena” – yup, with double “the.” The official announcement is happening nonetheless because you can still view the Octane’s picture via this link on Origin’s server – and there’s an official livestream from Respawn scheduled to be held later today. The whole situation indirectly confirms all of the other leaked characters as they were uncovered together with Octane. Which means that the whole hero roster is likely to reach the total number of 18 playable characters in the course of 2019.
Players believe that today’s announcement will mark the start of the first season, and Octane along with the Battle Pass will be made available starting from today. You’ll obviously have to spend real money on purchasing the pass, although Apex Legends is expected to adopt the strategy of offering freebies within the seasonal content as well.
