American television network ABC was scheduled to air a recap of the EXP Invitational - Apex Legends at X Games tournament on August 11. It has since been pulled and replaced with a hockey documentary called E:60 - Forever Broncos.
In a letter addressed to ABC affiliates and posted on Twitter by esports consultant Rob Breslau, the network stated that the decision was made "Out of respect for the victims and all those impacted by the recent shootings". It refers to the mass shootings that occurred last weekend in the US at Dayton, Ohio and El Paso, Texas. At least 31 people were killed and others injured.
EXP Invitational - Apex Legends at X Games Minneapolis was held at U.S. Bank Stadium from August 2-3. The scheduled broadcast was supposed to be an hour-long show of the tournament's highlights.
ESPN2 has rescheduled its broadcast of the same tournament to air several times in October. The tournament was organised by ESPN as part of its X-Games annual event.
