It has been almost four months since the launch of Respawn Entertainment's Battle Royale. At the time of release, Apex Legends looked like a potential leader in its niche, capable of shifting Fortnite at lightning speed (which actually happened in the first weeks). Now the future of the project does not look so bright, which was again confirmed in the financial report of SuperData Research.
The revenue continues to decrease rapidly for the second month in a row. In April, the game made a total of about $24 million, which is only 1/4 of the opening figures. The main reasons for the loss of popularity are tons of cheaters on the PC and the lack of regular content updates, which developers decided to issue on a periodic basis once every 3 months.
Nevertheless, Respawn still has a chance to recover the trust of the players along with the announcement of the next season at the EA Play event, which will be held from June 7 to 9.
