Apex Legends introduced a number of cool features when it released, which obviously doesn’t mean that the game has everything in it. Respawn’s project still lacks a few much-requested options – like the kill cam so that you could watch the sequence of the game a few seconds before you were killed. It’s a great way to detect cheaters and to learn from your own mistakes, but for now, it is absent in the Battle Royale title.
Luckily, this might change soon if there’s any credence to the recent finding by a dataminer. That1MiningGuy has shared his discovery on Twitter. According to him, there’re certain game files and functions in the Apex Legends current build that have unambiguous names like KillReplayHUD and KillReplayStarted/Ended. All of it hints at the potential replay feature, which will most likely work the way it does in modern popular games. Moreover, there’s a mention of a function called RoundWinningKillReplay, which indicates that the victorious kill of the match might be treated with a specific replay option. All in all, the rumoured functionality would’ve been a great addition to the game.
If Respawn actually adds the replay feature in the upcoming updates for Apex Legends then it would be the sign that the studio is listening to the community. Which, in return, could make the relations between the developers and the players a bit healthier – this is a much-needed treatment after the recent drama with the Iron Crown event.
