Apex Legends could be getting missions soon

Prior to the official start of Season 1 in Apex Legends, the developers from Respawn reached the community in an open letter and tried to warn that any speculations based on the findings in the game’s files are likely to be outdated, or revamped, or even completely abandoned. That’s a fair point, but dataminers continue doing their job nonetheless.

The latest discovery indicates that we might (or might not) see some kind of missions in Apex Legends. RealApexLeaks account (via Twitter) has posted a few screenshots of files, which contain information about “multisquad” missions and objectives. Apparently, rival teams will be tasked with following some instructions with only one team getting the potential reward on successful completion. There’s also a mention of a possibility to select a mission, so there might be multiple ones during a single match. All in all, the rumoured addition of missions is a nice step to enhance the experience from the current Battle Pass, which isn’t particularly exciting, to be honest.

Indeed, Season 1 Battle Pass for the game looks a bit rushed considering there’s no actual new content apart from Octane. We have a bunch of cosmetics, but the only ones that have a genuine value are the legendary Havoc skins. Judging by the leak, the devs at Respawn see the problem here. Let’s hope they find a solution and make sure the future Seasons are more versatile.
