Despite being heavily advertised for several months in a row, Anthem is not EA’s most popular release among the recent ones. Apex Legends has drawn a lot more attention, although it doesn’t mean that Anthem is being abandoned. The development team at BioWare continues its courageous crusade with the intention to fix the game.
Anthem has just received another patch – this time of version 1.0.4. The update includes a couple of significant novelties, and perhaps the most intriguing one is the addition of Legendary Missions. In short, this new feature allows replaying story missions on a higher and more challenging level of difficulty. This results in obtaining better gear, of course, as the never-ending hunt for better loot is pretty much the primary driving force of progressing in Anthem. Only one Legendary Mission is available on a daily basis, although you can play the hell out of it while it’s on. The notorious vanity chests are also added under the name of Elysian Caches. They spawn at the end of Strongholds and contain vanity items and crafting materials only. The absence of armour has already pissed off the community, so the feature is likely to be another missed opportunity for BioWare.
Another eye-catching addition included in the patch is the once again slightly reworked loot system. Chests, found in free roam, Strongholds and during missions, should now contain more various items and resources. Also, Strongholds’ bosses are expected to drop more loot. Oh, and you can finally adjust FOV on PC.
