DreamHack has announced an extension agreement with the city-owned Elmia venue in Jönköping, Sweden. The city hosted the first DreamHack festival in 2002 and has since continued to host its annual Summer and Winter events.

Although the smallest city DreamHack hosts events in, the company started a legacy it hopes to continue at Jönköping. As such, it will be hosting its 25th anniversary at DreamHack Winter festival.

DreamHack co-CEO, Marcus Lindmark said in a release: "It feels great to have come to an agreement with Elmia, ensuring that DreamHack Summer and DreamHack Winter festivals stay where they belong over the coming years." He added, "The people of Elmia, and all of Jönköping, have always been great partners, welcoming gamers from all over the world to their city and supporting us as best they can, in whatever way they can."

Elmia CEO, Lotta Frenssen also commented on the agreement: "Now that we’ve secured at least six more DreamHack festivals at Elmia, we can continue to focus on the rapid development and proliferation of esports, while also bringing value to other parties and events at Elmia."

DreamHack Winter will be held from November 28 to December 1, and will also include a newly-announced Super Smash Bros. Ultimate European Circuit tournament.
