Announced Details of Electronic Sports European Championship 2014

Organizing Committee of Electronic Sports European Championship 2014 announced the format which the abovementioned championship will have. So, generally 44 European national teams on CS: GO will take part in the tournament. Everything starts with the first qualifying round, where 16 teams with the lowest rating will participate.

The top eight teams of the first qualification will get into the second qualifying round, where they will meet 12 seeded and 4 not seeded teams.

Winners of the second qualifying stage, in their turn, will get into the group stage, where they will meet 12 top rated national teams of Europe. The following teams are already in the group stage:

 

As for the tournament calendar, online competition starts on August 12, when the first qualifying round begins. The second qualification is scheduled for August 20, and from September 1 to October 5 all five stages of the group round will be carried out. 1/8 of the finals will be held from 7th to 15th of October, and the quarter-finals are waiting for us from 16th to 22nd of October. Dates of semi-finals and the final battle of the championship will be announced by the organizers later. But according to preliminary information, the LAN-final will be held in Belgrade in December of this year.

We also would like to remind you that the qualifying matches of Electronic Sports European Championship are held in best-of-three format (i.e. until two victories of one of the teams). Group stage will be carried out in the format with one victory in every match, and starting from 1/8 of the finals all the matches will be held by best-of-three scheme with elimination.
