AnimEVOnline 2020 reveals official lineup of 20 titles

AnimEVOnline 2020 reveals official lineup of 20 titles ⚡⚡⚡ Esports news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!
The main tournament wasn't the only part of EVO 2020 to adopt an online structure, as the series of side-tournaments, AnimEVO will also be doing the same. Once more, a group of independent tournament organizers will put the spotlight on fighting games that don't make it into the main EVO lineup.
The staple of EVO events since 2014, AnimEVO will continue this tradition with its online offering, which will feature 20 games this year. Run over multiple days/weeks; the online event will have a mixed bag of anime fighting games on offer, the online experience they provide is one of the main reasons why they were picked for this event. There's also the possibility of more games making it into the lineup, although that would mean that it would get low priority during the event for joining so late in their plans.
Sup y’all? Welcome to the impromptu AnimEVOnline Twitter thread. Despite not having our usual show, the AnimEVO team felt the need to reveal some details on how we want to approach our event this year. (1/10) pic.twitter.com/3wZZp7ue5d

As AnimEVO is a united front of tournament organizers for multiple games, it brings together numerous communities of often shunned fighting games, giving fans the chance to compete on an international level. Similar to how EVO Online is supporting the fight against COVID-19, AnimEVOnline has chosen the Black Lives Matter campaign to put its collective might behind. The event will take place soon after EVO Online, which means some time in August. More information will arrive in the near future, with the organizers actively seeking volunteers to make the huge event another success under their belt.
With the added layer of online experience, it will be interesting to see which event winds up being the best for players and spectators alike. We’ll just have to wait and see.
