The private beta for The Division 2 went seemingly well with players enjoying the sequel and showing off their achievements in the game while exploring a lot more diverse surroundings of the latest entry. Although the beta was mostly available for those who pre-ordered, players got a chance to invite three of their friends each, which resulted in a pretty populated test period. But now it seems like Ubisoft has officially confirmed an open beta for the game.
An open beta is almost an obligatory step in developing an online game like The Division 2 because developers obviously have to test the online infrastructure and the server side in order to make sure that everything works as intended. Moreover, the private beta for The Division 2 wasn’t that swarmed with issues, and those few which did occur were operatively fixed by the developers. This means that an open beta stage should run well enough for players to enjoy the game once again before it releases. Judging by the latest official livestream from Ubisoft one of the developers literally said, that the team is going to fix a specific issue for the open beta. And this particular phrase, of course, should be considered an official confirmation.
There’s still enough time left for Ubisoft to address the existing issues and launch an open beta before the game releases in March. Which means that everyone gets the chance to play The Division 2 and come up with the decision whether or not it is worthy of attention and – therefore – buying. The exact dates for the open beta are yet to be announced.
