American politician got banned in EVE Online for corruption

EVE Online continues to amaze with its realism. The game has become an alternative reality, with its own economy, laws, corporations and famous people. So, the developers have published a quite interesting piece of information on their site — one of the players was blocked, which was part of the CSM 13.

CSM 13 is the thirteenth Council, which consists of 10 players. These people are authorized to represent the interests of the EVE Online community in front of the gamedevelopers. The process of communication is confidential and not to be disclosed, because Council members receive information that could influence the corporations' development.

The other day, a player nicknamed Brisc Rubal was expelled from the Council. According to information from the developers themselves, he secretly shared the knowledge gained with one of the members of his alliance, who used them on his purposes. In fact, this is a revealed act of corruption. As a result — Rubal has got a lifetime ban, and his two accomplices got year-long ones. 

Interestingly, in real life, Brisc Rubal is a politician. His name is Brian Schoeneman, he's from Virginia and is actively involved in promoting various initiatives to be considered by Congress.

Back in 2018, Brian gave an interview to Kotaku, where he shared his thoughts on the appointment to the position in CSM 13 and also said that he would be doing almost the same thing in the game as in life.

Schoeneman does not recognize his guilt and says that the developers do not want to explain the reasons for the blocking.
