ECS has announced the 16 teams invited to compete in the upcoming Pinnacle Cup. Eight were selected from North America while the remainder are European teams. Another 16 teams have also gone through the qualifying process on Europe and North America. 

The Pinnacle Cup will feature two online Swiss tournaments for each region from September 11-13. These teams will be seeded for the upcoming ECS Season 8, allowing invites to be sent to the best teams during the regular season. 

Sixteen teams from each region that consists of qualified and invited teams will compete. The Pinnacle Cup will be broadcast on Caffeine as part of Community Caster Challenge, which is a program designed to help grassroots casters find exposure and pave their way to becoming popular esports personalities. 

The best seeded teams from both tournaments will join the regular season which begins on September 16 and will continue through October. The top eight teams from here will move on to the ECS Season 8 Finals that will be held in North America.
