Aghanim's Labyrinth — A New Dota 2 Summer Event + Guide

Aghanim's Labyrinth is a 'cooperative roguelike mode' and the next Dota 2 Summer Event.
We have been waiting for this moment for a long time, haven't we? Anytime Valve announces that they will release an event in Dota 2, the community starts either to tremble in fear that something unplayable will come out or to raise unachievable goals with their dreams. Well, apparently, this time Valve finally reached something close to the level of Diretide, Frostivus and other legendary events.
Aghanim has arrived, glory to Aghanim!
So, here's the deal. The one and only, the greatest mage of all times, Rubick and Invoker's master, who disappeared so long ago has suddenly come back! Aghanim, yes, THAT Aghanim wants you and your teammates to challenge him in a race for glory and great prizes.
Dota 2 Aghanim's Labyrinth is a 'cooperative roguelike mode' as the official statement says, but in short, you just have to PvE all the time and then defeat the Aghanim himself at the end of each Labyrinth. Farm, upgrade your abilities in a new special skill-tree, kill the creeps (including brand new ones), farm again, kill more creeps, etc. — you know how PvE events in Dota 2 work.
You can get acquainted with the event, as well as with all its details, on the official website by the link.

Aghanim's Labyrinth Guide: tips and how to complete
There are not a lot of guides for the Labyrinth yet, but we've managed to sort something out. You will need to pick heroes who can easily farm, lifesteal, and nuke to kill the creep waves and then the Aghanim. Let's first think of the heroes that are best for Aghanim's Labyrinth.
Heroes to play Aghanim's Labyrinth:
- Ursa. In 7.27 Ursa is one of the strongest characters — and it works great in AL. He's a great tank, he can focus on mini-bosses, does tons of physical damage. Ursa's item build: Power Threads, Morbid Mask (upgrade to Satanic), Battle Fury (sell before the final round), Desolator, Yasha (upgrade to Sange&Yasha), Basher (upgrade to Abyssal Blade), Nullifier. You can also try having Vladmir's Offering and Vanguard at the start of the game.
- Viper. Damage + Aghanim killer. You will need our poisonous friend to kill the mega-boss, Aghanim, mostly. Get PT, Maelstrom (Mjolnir), Yasha (Sange&Yasha), Bloodthorne, MKB and choose whatever you like then: crits, AS, damage.
- Omniknight. Save, heal, aura, full support. Get Mekansm (Guardian Greaves), Drums, Assault Cuirass, Octarine Core. You might also want to buy Vlads, because it will free Ursa's item slot.
- Winter Wyvern. Save, heal, Aghanim killer (yes!). Tranquil Boots, Glimmer Cape, MKB, Daedalus and some AS and damage items.
You might also replace Viper with Sniper, will work just fine.
Aghanim's Labyrinth hints:
-
Be calm and don't rush. Think very wisely of what to pick depending on your own feelings and playstyle — ExtraLife and Chest or Coins.
-
Always try to have at least 1000 coins in your bank. Just in case you need an ExtraLife.
-
Don't rush, but move. Movespeed will win you labyrinths, so don't miss on them.
-
You will have Agh's buff within the game. Also should be picked wisely: get your Ursa some status resistance or overgrowth/fury swipes upgrades; Wyvern should have upgrades for Arctic Burn; for Omniknight get some health increase and spell duration.
-
Omni must focus only on saving Ursa.
Here you go! Remember, we're just advising according to some experience there is about the event, so don't take this one as a one and only answer to the question of how to beat Aghanim's Labyrinth. Be careful, don't rush and save for ExtraLife.
