Fighting game player Acqua, popularly known for his use of Captain Ginyu in Dragon Ball FighterZ, has taken an interest in Granblue Fantasy Versus. So much so, that he’s even prepared a character tier list to show what he makes of the early meta.

The Japanese pro ranked his tier list from S-C, with the roster split almost evenly among them. Although the game is still pretty new, Acqua pointed out that the characters each have things that they excel at, setting them apart. This likely played a part in his character placement.

We’ve already begun to see a consistent picture form regarding the best players in the game as Gran, Katalina and Ferry top yet another tier list. However, Acqua puts Lancelot among them.

Charlotta and Ladiva take up the next tier for themselves, while Zeta, Metera, and Percival follow in B-tier. The fire-wielding knight is another character that seems to be finding a permanent spot on tier lists, but in his case, he fills a mid to low-tier position.

Right at the bottom we have Lowain and Vaseraga who used to be considered threats but are now beginning to look like the worst in the game. In particular, Lowain’s Yggdrasil summon initially had many players baffled, yet now it feels more like a gimmick that has left his moveset lacking as a form of compromise by Arc System Works.
To complete his list, Acqua added Captain Ginyu in the last position. It’s probably an indication of how bad he feels that character is in his game, but the arrival of Dragon Ball FighterZ Season 3 on February 28 could see a change to that.

Granblue Fantasy Versus is currently out in Asia and Japan, but will arrive in North America on March 3.
