Treyarch is planning to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day in Black Ops 4 with today’s update for the game. The so-called Shamrock & Awe event was teased by the developers yesterday (via Twitter) while the promised detailed patch notes are coming today. We don’t know for sure what’s included in the event, but it’ll be focused on the aforementioned celebration with new themed Irish cosmetics and pieces of content – as it happened before in the previous games of the series.
In regards to some other coming novelties, Treyarch left a few hints on what to expect. There’s a new multiplayer mode called Stockpile, which is actually a reimagined Fracture mode from Black Ops 3. It tasks you with collecting enemy tags and bringing them to the deposit point. The multiplayer is also getting a new map – Contraband Hurricane, a new weather variation of the existing map. Another addition is the Hardcore mode for Blackout, which you’ll be able to experience without HUD, armour, vehicles and zombies. Finally, there’s a completely new Gauntlet called Hellcatraz for Zombies mode – 30 rounds of challenges are awaiting you.
It is worth mentioning that the event along with new modes, maps and Blackout changes will go live first on PS4, and you’ll have to wait a bit longer till the new content arrives on Xbox One and PC. Keep an eye on Treyarch’s official Twitter for specific announcements.
