Eric "747" Dong has been released from Team Archon's Dota 2 roster and has been replace with Jaron "monkeys-forever" Clinton, according to the organization.

Archon were invited directly to the main Americas qualifier for the Frankfurt Major, but because they changed their roster from what they originally registered, they have forfeited their invite. Their slot has been awarded to the runner-up of the first open qualifier, Boreal eSports.

747 has been with the roster for just over a month, before the team was picked up by Archon, when they were Team FIRE. monkeys-forever has been playing for ROOT Gaming since March of this year; they have yet to announce a replacement for the mid laner.

According to Archon's captain, Brian "FLUFF" Lee, the reason for the roster change was due to clashing playstyles.

"To shed some light on the situation, our team felt like a team was necessary in order to perform better overall," he said. "Simply put, we felt that our preferences and play styles didn’t mesh well with 747’s personal style."

The new Team Archon will compete in the second open AM qualifiers for the Frankfurt Major.

The new Team Archon roster is as follows:

  • Brian "FLUFFNSTUFF" Lee
  • Bryant "whiteBeard" Lehwald
  • Jio "Jeyo" Madayag
  • David "Moo" Hull
  • Jaron "monkeys-forever" Clinton
