Riot Games has announced the Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies Championship set to take place later this year. The Galaxies Championship will have a $200,000 prize pool and see players from all around the world qualify through online qualifiers to the main LAN even later in the year.
Here is how all the regional spots will shake out:

Sixteen players from around the world will qualify through a region-specific system of ladders and tournaments to ensure that the best players from every region are represented.

North American players will qualify through weekly points given based on ladder rankings starting in May, with a number of additional events being held to earn more points. After 12 weeks, ten players will be chosen based on points, then pitted in the North American Final in August.
Whalen Rozelle, director of global esports at Riot Games, released a statement regarding the Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies Championship and the reasoning behind the competition:

With the Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies Championship, we want to reward all of the players who dedicate their time to mastering Teamfight Tactics and provide an additional goal that exists beyond reaching the top of the ladder. To support this, we are creating a clear path to the championship that will be globally accessible through both the in-game ladder and online tournaments.
