Google’s Phil Harrison announced this morning on Twitter that Google Stadia will be getting 22 launch titles. This development almost doubles the number announced last week, giving fans much more to look forward to tomorrow.
Besides Football Manager 2020, all the other additional games were released earlier this year or beyond. FM 2020 also launches on Steam tomorrow, but Tequila Works’ Gylt is still the only Stadia exclusive title in the lineup. However, there are still a couple of previously released games that were announced for Stadia but won’t be making it on launch day, some even this year. They include Borderlands 3, Doom (2016), The Division 2, The Elder Scrolls Online, and Superhot.
Here’s the updated Google Stadia launch game line-up, with the new inclusions added in bold:
Attack on Titan: Final Battle 2
Farming Simulator 19
Final Fantasy XV
Football Manager 2020
Grid 2019
Metro Exodus
NBA 2K20
Rage 2
Trials Rising
Wolfenstein: Youngblood
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Destiny 2
Red Dead Redemption 2
Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Mortal Kombat 11
Gylt
Kine
Just Dance 2020
Samurai Shodown
Thumper
It should also be of note that these ten additional games are actually from the list of 14 scheduled to arrive on Stadia after launch but before the year 2020. The Stadia’s impending launch has resulted in a lot of mixed feelings following the absence of 4K HDR, 5.1 surround sound streaming on PC, achievements, and family streaming. That, coupled with the small number of launch titles, was a bit disappointing, so hopefully, the inclusion of these games will lift the spirit of fans.
The Google Stadia launch feels more like an early access beta. The company’s failed promises have soured the deal for many. Yet, for those that don’t mind what's been cut, tomorrow will be a fun day indeed.
